Lay Buddhists have the opportunity to experience monastic life for one day and one night. This retreat offers peace, tranquility and mindfulness in daily life and encourages self-cultivation.

Date: Saturday 5/24

Time: 8:00am-9:00pm(After returning home, maintain a mindset of practice until the next morning.)

Check in: 8:00am-8:50am

Fee: We welcome open donations to make affinities with others by offering meals or general support.

Objectives:

1. To allow lay Buddhists a chance to practice traditional Buddhist etiquette.

2. To allow lay Buddhists a chance to experience the monastic lifestyle.

3. To allow lay Buddhists a chance to purify the mind and encourage self-cultivation.

Eligibility:

1. Must have right understanding and right beliefs on Buddhism.

2. Must be willing to accept the experiences of the Buddhist monastic lifestyle.

3. Must be in a good physical and mental health.

4. Must keep Noble Silence throughout the Retreat.

5. Must be between the ages of 16 - 75 without supervision.

Notes:

1. We will email you a week ahead and check if you will be able to make it for the entire retreat 8am to 9:30pm. You must reply to that email in a timely manner (by 5/20) to confirm your seat.

2. Check in on Saturday, May 24, 2025, 8:00am-8:50am.

3. Please do not bring with you any items of great value such as jewelry etc.

4. Uniform will be provided. Please wear Black Arhat Shoes (if you have them) or flat-soled shoes. Do not wear backless sandals. White socks are required (brand labels are ok).
