I. Objective:

Taking refuge in the Triple Gem is the foundation of practicing Buddhism, while receiving the Five Precepts and upholding the Ten Wholesome Deeds are the basics of all precepts. Through upholding the Three Refuges and the Five Precepts, we will receive the blessing of the Triple Gem, purify our body and mind, recognize our pure intrinsic nature, and discover the value of life.

II. Qualification:

All lay men and women with the resolve to take refuge and receive the Five Precepts in becoming Buddhist followers. One may choose to only take refuge or take both.

III. Date:

• 10:10am -11:20am: Precept Lecture
• 11:30am – 12:10pm: Meditative Meal
• 12:30pm – 1:30pm: Buddhist Etiquette
• 1:50pm – 2:40pm: Ceremonial Training
• 3:00pm – 5:00pm: Ceremony
• 5:00pm – 5:20pm: Group Photo
• 5:20pm: Receiving Certificate

IV. Triple Gem Refuge & Five Precepts Seminar

This seminar is mandatory for all participants as participants will receive their registration letter. Five preceptee will have their photo taken for their certificate at check-in.

You will receive the registration letter on April 27, 2025 when you come for the Triple Gem Refuge & Five Precepts Seminar.

1) For renewing precepts, please bring your own precept robe.

2) For the new five preceptee, please bring black haiqing robe, wear white/plain top, black/dark pants, and black arhat shoes or flat-soledshoes.

3) Please do not bring with you any items of great value such as jewelry etc.
